The Zebulon Montgomery Pike Bicentennial Commemoration
2006 - 2007 / 1806 - 1807
The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo is spearheading the 2006 - 2007 Zebulon Montgomery Pike Bicentennial Commemoration in conjunction with the Santa Fe Trail Association, Channels 5/30 and a wide range of Southeastern Colorado Community partners. This regional effort will recognize the contributions of U.S. Army Captain Zebulon Pike to the exploration and settlement of the American West. The regional effort will boast many exciting activities for heritage tourists and family vacationers alike.
On July 15, 2006 the Pike Plaza area of HARP was the site of an exciting and historically savvy day featuring a parade, historic re-enactments, educational exhibits and more.
