THE BASICS
HARP stands for Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo. The HARP Project covers 26 achres of downtown Pueblo and has been the catylist for over $188 Million of reinvestment in Pueblo's downtown district. HARP returns the Arkansas River to it's original course through the heart of downtown.
A $12.5 Million bond issue was approved by the citizens of Pueblo in November of 1995 providing funding for the initial 2 stages of HARP. In addition to the bond issue the HARP Foundation has raised over $12 million dollars in public and private funds to continue improving this incredible resource for downtown Pueblo.
The Channel walls are 4 feet deep and the water level is approximately 3.5 feet deep. Lake Elizabeth is approximately 9 feet at it's deepest point. The channel is located 10 feet in elevation below street level.
